If the file size is bigger then 350 kilobytes, your phone will not open it. With a 30 second ringtone, I'm willing to bet the file is around that size, depending on the quality of the tone itself. If it is a clip of a song, chances are it's in 44100 khz, 128 or higher kbps. If that's the case, your ringtone is probably 600 or 700k in size. - The way you find out - right click on the actual file, scroll down and click on properties in the window that pops up. In that window it will tell you the size of the file.

As far as I know, this site will allow you to upload ringtones that are rather large in size. Again, you have to make sure it's a size your phone will actually play.

I can get into how to "shrink" the file size if you'd like, but it's a rather long discussion, and I don't know how much you know about converting audio files, compressing them, etc. I'm willing to help though.

Please do what I said above, and let me know how big the file is. If it's under 350 k and your phone is still saying it's too big, then you have another issue on your hands.

Also, along with the size of the file, I need to know what manufacturer and model phone you are using (ex lg 8700, etc)
