# Posted: 13 Jul 2008 16:30:15 hey mine has recently got the same probelm, only now the tones are sent to my phone as a voice note instead of a ringtone and the voice notes are not as clear as the ringtones were. I have a blackberry pearl 8110. Did I do something to it or am I just picking ringtones that happen to be voice records? |

# Posted: 13 Jul 2008 20:12:31 Cingular must have just started compressing the ringtone before it gets to your phone. I am getting many compaints from Cingular customers. Crostel did not change anything, so it has to be on the carrier end. T-mobile did the same thing about a year ago. To get the high quality version you need to follow the download link in the text message. You can signup for a data plan with your carrier to avoid their data charges. |

# Posted: 14 Jul 2008 01:57:22 Well i looked at my old ringtones that sound great. And i noticed the kbps and compared them to the low quality ringtones so yea hey get compressed because of course the lower quality have about half the kbps then the higher quality ones.. sucks! but now i have a blackberry with a memory card so i dont have to send any i just put em on the memory stick through usb. |
