# Posted: 13 Aug 2007 07:07:47 I have a Motorola tracfone V170. I can't pass the first test, testing my phone number. And when I try to send a ringtone to my phone, it says sent, but nothing is sent. After it says it's been sent it says n=0 Resource id # 16. Text messaging works, can send and receive text. Will I not be able to get ringtones to my phone? |

# Posted: 21 Aug 2007 16:07:59 You're not alone. I've the exact same issue. I can't get past the testing function of this site, but if I use the sidebar to send myself a message it works just fine. Hopefully someone will figure out this and get it working as they do have some cool ringtones. Just for the heck of it I purchased one at Tracfone and those come through fine so I'm not sure why that works and this doesn't! Phooey! <grin>. |

# Posted: 22 Aug 2007 18:08:46 Still not working as of 8PM (Eastern US). I also tried ATT GSM and Cingular and Cingular Blue and Other as Cingular's identified as the carrier for my TracFone. For what it's worth someone suggested a link to "older cell phones" as something else to try but I can't find it (or if it's here it's not apparently obvious). |

# Posted: 1 Oct 2007 05:56:51 for crostel, tracfone texts and ringtones will be back up by this evening, Other prepaid mobiles like net 10 might also be affected by this temporary outage. |

# Posted: 5 Oct 2007 18:37:46 For Tracfone users, at least with the Moto W370 phone and I suspect others, the images and sound files must be sent as an attachment via MMS. For me the message is in the form of mycellnumber@mms.att.net The test is sending it via WAP which is disabled on Tracfones except for the Tracfone website. They want you to buy their own ringtones and images. People have successfully downloaded ringtones and images via MMS. |

For those of us not quite so enlightened as to all this technology, nevermind all the terminology of the technology, what's MMS and how does one use it, as opposed to the simple text function that works on the sidebar of this website?
