I would expect it to cost as much as a text message/phone call, but is it more?

I see in the "testimonials" forum that you recommend users have unlimited minutes. Why? I don't have unlimited minutes and don't plan to.

Thanks in advance for your response.

It will deduct the credits as if it was an sms message. It was about 1 credit last time I checked.

The unlimited plan I refer to is for unlimited text and internet. These unlimited plans are only available for post-paid plans like t-mobile and cingular.

Crostel is a free service. (standard messaging rates may be applied by your carrier.)

I have tracfone and I'm never charged anything for incoming SMS, only outgoing. and it's 0.3 units for an outgoing SMS (which doesn't matter here, unless you are planning on sending a thank you SMS everytime)

It depends what tracfone you have.

1. If you have an old "single-rate" phone, you will most likely not be charged units, check your manual

2. If you have a phone which has roaming charges, you will probably be charged 0.3 units to recieve the message, but you wont be charged for the media.

3. If you have the newest phones, the Motorola c261 and the other new flip phone, you will be charged 1.0 units to open a message with any media in it. (ringtone, pic, etc)

Rule of Thumb: Look in your tracfone manual, not the phone's but the tracfone, look near the middle.
