How to upload music to the site? I have my music and pictures files in my PC, how do I upload them? Do I need to save them in a hosting site? IF yes, which hosting sites are good?

If you have a midi, wav, mp3 or some other audio you can convert it into a ringtone by sending the link to crostel or uploading the content from your PC.

1. Login to crostel and click the 'upload' link (it is in the top right corner)
2. Paste the link url or browse files on your PC and then click to upload the media.
3. Now in your Crostel My Space area, click the speaker to preview the ringtone and then click send to put it on your phone.

At the top, there is a search box you can use.

If you are uploading directly from a CD, look at the jacket to see if the audio is copywrited. If so, you should check the "copywrited" box in the upload screen. This way the content will be visible only for your account, since you already paid for it, but it will not be sharable with another user.

It is in the top right corner in your "My Space" page after you login.

(If you use Firefox it might show up in the top left corner.)

To me it looks like you are doing it right. The only think I would recommend is send a plain text message from here to your phone. Also try a regular ringtone http://crostel.com/my_space/ringtones.php .

Does your phone beep and you get the messages?
Do you get an error message on your phone when the ringtone or picture arri

Non-internet phones can receive monophonic ringtones only and cannot receive pictures from Crostel.

There are a couple exceptions. A net10 phone that works with pictures and polyphonic ringtones and maybe one tracfone too, but they are very new phones.

You should take the phone test that is on your Crostel Space. If you go all the way through the test, it should automatically detect your phone model. After you do that, try a regular ring-tone and let me know what happens.

I have a Lg C2000 and was wondering on how to get the real tones on it. I have downloaded the music from my computer and put it on the page but when I go to send it when it gets to my phone it has an error and says that file is to large. I tried doing the realtones on here and says the same thing.

Okay, I'm not doing something right obviously. I took the phone test with my Motorola c261 Tracfone and as with every other URL I cannot get the Crostel url to open forbidden error 403. So can I just send as if non internet phone? Also I uploaded a midi file but it won't play. Not having good luck today please help. Thanks

lfoss, The newer tracfones let you get pictures and polyphonic ringtones but NOT realtones. The 403 error means that TracFone has forbidden you to access general internet websites. This does not mean you cannot get ringtones from Crostel. In fact many people are getting ringtones and pictures from here to the newer net10 and tracfone phones. The picture and ringtone will come to your phone in the message that gets sent and you will not need to open any link to get it. Try with a picture and make sure that works before you try a ringtone. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TailsPrower86, Unfortunately TracFone does not support any MP3 Realtones yet. This is a limitation with thier phones. For now only MIDI Ringtones will work. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TehRaChan & jesswebb18, For a while, the ringtones were too long. I have shortened them to 30 seconds which may have fixed your problem. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chixenlegs, Sorry but I do not have a motorola323 to test the download instructions. Have you tried the manual? -Doug

Ok ...here's the thing, I uploaded a file, sent it to my phone (moto v365) and I downloaded it. No errors, No sound either. What am I doing wrong. I tried the search, found Shaggy's Angel, it worked, Super Mario Bros, worked (not so well though, just kinda beeped the tune instead of what it showed online), but no sound was there for my upload or for the Seether file I found and tried. What do I need to do?
