When I tried to test the phone for ringtones, I got the Crostel icon, but when I clicked on the link to open it, it put me into another screen called "open wave vzw services. It looks like it is asking my to sign up for internet service. On my Dad's v325i phone the ringtone went right into his phone without using any internet service.
What am I doing wrong??

You are not doing anything wrong. With Verizon, you need to signup for the pix messaging service or else the ringtones and pictures will be stuck on a website that verizon owns and you won't be able to get them on your phone.
Just signup for pix messaging on verizon and then the Crostel ringtones will go straight to your phone.

Thanks for the advice, but I am all ready able to send pictures via a text message. I can take a picture and then send it. Is what you are talking about something different?

Something different. You need the pix messaging package from your carrier if you want to get ring tones and pictures from here. Even if you can send a picture from one phone to another, it still will not work from Crostel to your phone unless you get the pix messaging package from Verizon. I hope that answers your question OK.
