Tried to send myself a ringtone several times, and when my message is recieved, it clearly says how large the file I recieved was - and it's always right. So theoretically I'm getting the whole thing. However, when I go to view the message, the ringtone plays beautifully - for about 5 seconds lol, then stops. I can't figure out how to get it to play completely, nor am I really sure how to save the ringtone to my phone's library, even if it did play completely. I have tried a couple different ringtones just to make sure it wasn't just something wrong with the file. Also I tried going directly to wap.crostel.com/ ect, and when my browser tries to connect, it says HTTP Error: 403 Forbidden. :( One thing I thought I'd mention is that when I actually go to tracfone.com and buy a ringtone from them, it is sent to me in a browser message, not a text message. Thanks so much.
Edit:
Ok never mind I found out what to do - for you C261 owners who are having this problem, I guess the file playing for only a few seconds is normal. Me, being totally unaquainted with my very new phone did not know this. You may scold me severely for this. While viewing your message, press the menu button in the middle of your directionals. That'll bring up a text message menu, which if you scroll down will show an option to 'save content' - and there you go it'll save the whole thing. My last phone was very old and had nothing even close to the technology this one has, so if you're rolling your eyes at my simplicity, well, um . . there's nothing I can do to stop you. BUT you technologically challenged people out there who've got no idea what you're doing and are not afraid to admit it - this paragraph is for you. Lol.

Out of curiosity I actually tried downloading an mp3 to my c261 this afternoon before ever reading your question. I received the text msg, but basically the same error message you did. The c261, from a few reports that I read online (which I am now kicking myself for not bookmarking) actually can support a realtone file, but with less than 2megs of available memory, your space is very very limited. I don't have the error message right in front of me - I deleted it, but I do think there was something in the message that made me think that the mp3 was prevented because Tracfone will not allow it, not the phone itself. Take notice that you can't buy realtones from the Tracfone store . . . makes me wonder. It would be easy to find out if this the case, if some carrier other than Tracfone used it. You could ask one of those users if they have a prob. If they don't, it's most likely Tracfone's policy. However I don't know if/what other carriers use this phone.

What is your network code? I can check if we are delivering to the right place. It is a 6 digit number in your phone in the network menu.
