I'm considering getting a new Tracfone Motorola C261 and I was wondering what users here thought of it. Also, what media here works on it? (I think it's just polyphonic ringtones...) Thanks!

The C261 is cheap and good for the price. TracFone has three new phones coming soon. All will cost more than the C261.

Just a few more questions about the C261:

~Is it true that realtones can be used if they're very small files? If so, how small is "very small"?
~How well do the polyphonic ringtones from this site work on the C261? Is it considered one of the "older phones" that don't work as well?
~Do picture downloads work?

Just want to learn more before I go out and actually buy the phone! :)

to answer ur questions true realtones can work but they have to be below i think 25kbs i believe since the phone doesn't hold much soo it could be like maybe not even half of one of my real tones i put up some of the polys on here work pretty well and plus the c261 is atleast a decent phone since it has a camera but like i said though the polys on this site are very good like check out some from iphone ring under ringtones its a cool telephone ringer and plus picture downloads do work if u have any pictures u would like for me to look up and put in my selections i will gladly do it for ya u can also use web browser on the c261 but its for tracfones ringtones and they are also as we speak updating the Wap Internet they have up with real ringtones it will be out sometime in August i believe soo until then when the w370 comes out u can use corstel and all real ringtones and polys will work for that phone plus remember its a mp3 player as well ^^!!!! if u have any further questions just gimme a txt :3!

The crostel WAP address is wap.crostel.com. You can type that into your phone to search ringtones and pix on the go :)

Thanks for all your help... especially TailsPrower86! :)

I am most likely going to get the C261 (I'm hoping to get the red one off Walmart.com); it's a major improvement from my old Nokia 1100, and I like that there's a camera and you can still download polyphonic ringtones and pictures. Plus it's within my price range.

If anyone else is looking for info on the C261, I just found this review and I highly recommend it: http://www.mobile-review.com/review/motorola-c261-en.shtml. It takes a really detailed look at all the C261's features.

P.S. To anyone interested in the Tracfone Motorola C139, Walmart.com has them in pink!

The Motorola W370 that TailsPower86 described in above post is now available on TracFone's site. Price is $49.99, but is already out of stock. Said there would be a 2 week wait for order.

I don't know if any one has read this in a while but my sis has the Motorola W370 and she is not able to get pictures on it and her "internet" does not work at all. When she tried to get photos from here she was not able to it would send her to a link that she would have to look at on the computer, that is the same also if some one would send her a photo from their phone to hers. I think that is because with it not being a camera phone it won't accept pictures. She has not tried to send her self ring tones as she just assumed they would not work as well.
